Officials are searching for a man suspected of armed robbery at D&W Quick Stop Jan. 8. According to Ada Police Det. Kathi Johnston, officials identified the suspect as Jason Jansma, who reportedly fits the description given by the clerk the night of the robbery.
The clerk working that night identified Jansma as the alleged suspect after she was shown a picture of a wanted subject out of McClain County.
Jansma was wanted for bail jumping and larceny.
D&W Quick Stop was robbed at gunpoint, according to a report from the Ada Police Department. Police officials responded to a panic alarm at the store just after 7 p.m. The clerk told officers a man came in the store and asked for all the money in the cash register.
The man repeated himself and pulled out a gun, the report said. He asked for two packs of cigarettes and took around $1,000 in cash before running out the door.
Officers searched the area but were unable to locate anyone fitting the description at the time.
After the clerk identified Jansma as the suspect, a warrant was issued for Jansma on the charge of armed robbery.
Jansma is said to be driving a dark blue full size Chevrolet van and is known to frequent the Ada, Purcell, Byars and Muskogee areas, Johnston said.
Officials urge anyone with information to call the local police department or the Ada Police Department at 580-332-4466.
Persons with information can call Crime Stoppers at 580-33-CATCH.
