Two arrested by narcotics unit

Ada — The Ada police narcotics unit arrested two people in connection with drugs Tuesday.

Jeffrey McCune, 21, Ada, was arrested after he allegedly attempted to sell marijuana to undercover detectives at a local department store parking lot, according to Capt. Jeff Crosby.

Crosby said the arrest led investigators to a residence in the 500 block of S. College. There, police reportedly discovered approximately three-fourths of a pound of marijuana. Officers arrested Jerica M. Wright, 21, Ada, on suspicion of possessing marijuana with the intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a university and for possessing drug paraphernalia.

McCune was arrested on suspicion of attempting to sell marijuana, possessing marijuana with the intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a university, using a telephone to further a drug deal and for possessing drug paraphernalia.

A vehicle was also seized in connection with the arrests. Crosby said anyone with information on drug dealing or any crime can call 33CATCH or 332-2824 and remain anonymous.
