The Lee family from Ada visited state Rep. Todd Thomsen, Ada, on Oklahoma Home Educators’ Capitol Day Feb. 12 at the Oklahoma Capitol in Oklahoma City. The primary goal of Oklahoma Home Educators’ Capitol Day is to make positive contacts with legislators. Families delivered boxed cookies and information packets on home education to legislators’ offices. Children were encouraged to be involved by bringing sample copies of their school work including written essays. Gloria Lee, 7-year-old daughter of Darren and Angella Lee, Ada, recited a poem titled “You Musn’t Quit” to Thomsen while visiting with him.
