Bullfighters coming to town

Ada Gold City will perform Friday night at the World Championship Rodeo Bullfight and Concert at Pontotoc County Agri-plex in Ada. The event is sponsored by the Chickasaw Nation

Beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, April 4, Gold City Quartet will take the stage to entertain with their songs of all types of music including Southern Gospel. Among the more than 60 accolades Gold City has received are Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Group of the Year and Individual of the Year.

Gold City’s uniquely identifiable sound has led to a string of Number 1 radio songs: “Midnight Cry,” “It’s Still The Cross,” “He Said,” “I’m Not Giving Up,” and “Calvary Conquers It All.”

In concert Saturday night, April 5, Johnny Lee will begin performing at 7 p.m. featuring his longtime list of number one hits.

Concerts begin Friday, April 4, and Saturday, April 5, at 7 p.m. and bullfights at 8 p.m.

The nations’ top 15 bullfighters for the world championship will be in competition against Rex Dunn’s Famous Fighting Bulls. The bullfighters will be competing for a purse of $16,000 and a championship trophy.

Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association Hall of Fame Rodeo Clown Lecile Harris will be here to amuse spectators of all ages.

Eight-time specialty act of the year John Payne “The One Armed Bandit” will be on hand with his award winning act.

The Voice of the World Championship Finals and Hall of Fame Rodeo Announcer, Hadley Barrett with his distinctive and smooth voice will call the action.

Advance tickets are on sale at Steppin’ Out Western Store in Ada and Wynnewood and Sharpe’s Department Store in Ada for $15.
