An Ada woman was arrested when she allegedly fled after hitting another vehicle in Stonewall Friday.
Tammie Nanette Robertson, 50, is charged in Pontotoc County District Court with driving under the influence of drugs second and subsequent, possession of a controlled drug second and subsequent and bringing contraband into a county jail.
Stonewall Police Chief Jason Teel said Robertson allegedly rear-ended a flatbed pickup owned by Pontotoc County District Three, pusshing it up some stairs on a Main Street storefront.
“The pickup was parked with James Golden sitting in the driver’s seat and Willie King sitting in the passenger’s seat,” Teel said. “Both men described the vehicle that hit them as a tan Tahoe with a blond woman driving.”
Teel said Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers located the vehicle at a residence in Tupelo.
“I arrived at the residence and made contact with (Robertson) who had slurred speech, and responded to simple questions slowly and was in a drowsy state,” Teel said.
Robertson reportedly admitted to hitting the vehicle but said she didn’t think anyone was in it, according to Teel. Robertson was arrested and taken to jail.
“After arriving at Pontotoc County jail the defendant was being searched prior to being placed in a cell,” Teel said. “Detention officer Chelsea Collard found eight white pills wrapped in plastic, in the defendant’s bra.”
Robertson is being held on a $100,000 bond, Teel said.
