Man stabbed, dies during reported kidnapping

— Presley Scott Hamilton, 37, was allegedly stabbed to death Monday by his former girlfriend after he reportedly kidnapped her.
Alice Lynne Pittman, 36, told authorities Hamilton abducted her from her Connerville residence in the early morning hours, a press release from the Chickasaw Nation said.
Johnston County Officials called Chickasaw Nation Lighthorse Police to the scene of the disturbance which was located on Native American land. Hamilton was pronounced dead with two stab wounds to his chest. Pittman said after Hamilton abducted her, he forced her to drive to an abandoned house where he held her captive and threatened to kill her, the report said.
The report said Pittman told police she grabbed Hamilton’s pocket knife and stabbed him in an attempt to escape. She called 911 and reported the incident to sheriff’s officials.
Hamilton’s body was taken by a medical examiner to Oklahoma City for an official autopsy. Case details will be forwarded to the Johnston County district attorney’s office.
Authorities said Hamilton was wanted on federal and state warrants. Pontotoc County Undersheriff Joe Glover said Hamilton was wanted in Pontotoc County for failure to appear in court. Glover said several different area agencies were looking for Hamilton, including Lighthorse police and Coal, Pontotoc and Johnston County sheriff’s deputies.
Glover said at one point Pontotoc County deputies attempted to apprehend Hamilton at his residence but he escaped and disappeared into the woods.
“At the time we did not know, but he had a camera surveillance system in his house,” Glover said. “He observed deputies coming to the front of his residence he ran out of the back of the house.”
According to Oklahoma District Court records, Hamilton was charged in Coal County with possession of a firearm after conviction or during probation and pleaded guilty on June 21, 2007. Coal County Sheriff Roy Deck said Hamilton was sentenced to 10 years in prison with five years suspended.
Glover said after Hamilton was sentenced in Coal County, he was brought to Pontotoc County to face separate charges. Bail was set for Hamilton and because of a paperwork error, the hold placed on Hamilton for Coal County wasn’t recognized and Hamilton was released on bail.
