A man who was employed at the McDonalds inside Wal-Mart supercenter was arrested last week for allegedly stealing merchandise from the Wal-Mart store.
Ada Police Officer Phillip Wood said Robert Jones, 36, Ada, was arrested after he reportedly stole nearly $5,000 worth of goods. A loss prevention officer at Wal-Mart told Wood he observed Jones take DVDs and video games and conceal them in his coat.
Jones went into McDonalds and opened the items. Store officials later confronted Jones and retrieved the merchandise. While filling out a statement, Jones reportedly confessed to taking 178 DVDs, 25 video games, two remotes, two battery chargers, four memory sticks, four Playstation controllers, 24 packages of batteries and two packages of socks.
Store officials said they had been watching Jones for a while and the total amount for the merchandise taken was $4,939.66. Jones was taken to city jail and bail was set at $5,000.
