SULPHUR — An Ada woman died in a one-vehicle accident near Sulphur Thursday.
Jennifer Bohanan, 35, Ada, was pronounced dead from internal and head injuries at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital after a vehicle she was a passenger in crashed. The accident occured five miles south of Sulphur.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Darian Galloway said Kevin Wallace, 39, Pauls Valley, was driving a 2004 Ford Explorer west on a county road.
“The vehicle failed to negotiate a curve to the right, ran off the road to the left striking several trees,” Galloway said.
The vehicle came to rest 65 feet away from the road. Galloway said Wallace fled the scene on foot.
Three other passengers in the vehicle, Terry M. Guinn, 22, Ada, Sherie Wallace, 18, Ada, and Runelle Deaton, 33, Davis, were taken by Murray County EMS to Arbuckle Memorial Hospital and treated and released.
Funeral arrangements for Bohanan are pending with Criswell Funeral Home in Ada. Based on his investigative opinion, Galloway listed the cause of the accident as driving under the influence and said Wallace’s ability was impaired by drinking.
