Police are investigating why a man drove his pickup into the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on N. Mississippi Friday morning.
Police on scene said a man was driving his Chevrolet pickup north on Mississippi when he veered into the southbound lanes, clipping another vehicle.
His vehicle hit an electric pole, snapping it in two. The vehicle then passed between poles supporting the KFC sign before slamming into the restaurant.
The pickup came to rest inside the south side of the restaurant’s dining area.
The man’s identity and extent of his injuries are unknown at press time.
Doyle Sanders, a spokesperson for KFC, said the store was closed and no one was inside at the time of the accident.
Further details on the incident will be available as they develop.
