ADA — In Monday night’s regular meeting, Ada City Council approved the next step of the Scissortail Lake feasibility study. The approved step is part of Phase III of the lake study and has no additional cost.
The form council approved is a “Request for Proposal” for financial advisory services for financing of the proposed lake. Two city council members are also needed to participate in the evaluation of the responses received. Vice-Mayor Roger Cupps nominated Councilmember Dick Scalf who nominated Cupps. The two agreed to serve in the capacity.
In other business, Mayor Barbara Young welcomed newly sworn-in Councilmember Charlie Vest.
Council approved the purchase of a backhoe for the city from a local vendor. Although the bid was not the lowest received, it had the convenience of a local vendor, warranty and providing a loaner if the new backhoe should break down.
Charles Robert Goins was approved to update the existing long range plan 2010 to the Long Range Plan 2020. This project consists of maps that will help Ada continue to grow in a healthy way.
