ADA—Ada postal carriers will be collecting non-perishable food items Saturday from residents wishing to donate to “Stamp Out Hunger”.
The National Association of Letter Carriers in conjunction with the US Postal Service will be collecting food items such as canned meats and fish, canned soup, juice, pasta, vegetables, cereal and rice to help families in need in the community.
Ada Postmaster Carol Johnson said the food collected will be distributed to several charitable organizations in Ada.
Postal workers have been distributing cards with information on the event. Residents can place food donations at their mailbox on May 10 before their letter carrier arrives. They ask that no expired items or glass containers be included.
