• Tupelo Public Works Authority will meet in the Tupelo Senior Citizens center.
• Compassionate Friends support group meets at 6:30 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall, 129 W. 14th. Compassionate Friends is an organization offering friendship and understanding to bereaved families following the death of a child. For more information, phone Debbra Martin Smith at 580-399-5565.
• Byrd’s Mill Archeology Society meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Valley View Regional Hospital conference room.
• New group forming to work with all agencies of Law Enforcement and Emergency Services, East Central University, Indian Nations, and other social groups, to facilitate a better life, for seniors and disabled of Southeastern Oklahoma, including Ada, Pontotoc, Durant and Bryan. An organizational meeting takes place from 10 a.m. until noon in the music room upstairs in Ada Public Library. • Sasakwa Elementary School conducts early enrollment for 3 year olds through kindergarten.
• A dance is held every Wednesday at the Irving Community Center, 704 N. Oak, from 7:30-10 p.m. The cost is $6 per person.
THURSDAY
MAY 14, 2009
• Sasakwa Elementary School conducts early enrollment for 3 year olds through kindergarten.
• Vision Bank hosts a blood drive from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the bank board room.
Ada Chickasaw Senior Citizens will host an Indian taco sale from 4-7 p.m. at the senior site, 1005 Chamber Loop. A pie and cake auction takes place at 5:30 p.m. Cost of the taco, dessert and drink is $6. For delivery of two or more int he city limits, phone 580-436-1007.
• Gospel and country music singers Thurman Rinehart, Leon Barnett and Gene Williams will perform for residents of Ballard Nursing Home in ada t 2:30 p.m.
• Singing Rineharts will entertain residents at Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Allen with gospel and country music at 6:30 p.m.
• The local Alcoholics Anonymous group meets Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church, 301 E. Kings Rd. For more information, phone Daniel G. at (580) 332-3503.
