Molester's suspended sentence revoked

Ada — The woman who fled from law enforcement after being sentenced to prison will now serve twice as much time, Assistant District Attorney Jim Tillison said.

Elizabeth Ann McKinney, 43, Ada, was in district court before Judge Tom Landrith Monday. Landrith said she must now serve her original 20 year sentence.

In December, McKinney entered into a blind plea on charges of lewd acts with a child under 12 and forcible sodomy. She was sentenced to 20 years with 10 suspended and the remaining 10 to be served in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

McKinney failed to report to the Pontotoc County sheriff’s department Jan. 9 and fled the state. She was captured in Louisiana in early April. Undersheriff Joe Glover drove to New Orleans to retrieve McKinney after she was arrested by police there.

Tillison said the sentence is an 85 percent rate which means McKinney must serve 17 years before she is eligible for parole. If she had reported to authorities in January, she would have had to serve eight years and six months before being eligible.
