A Holdenville man was taken by Medi-Flight to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City after a two-vehicle accident on US 377 6 miles north of the Pontotoc County line Monday.
James Harris, 38, was admitted in serious condition with internal injuries.
The accident occurred when Harris was driving a 1984 Ford Bronco north on US 377. He slowed to make a left turn, then cut back and turned right into the path of a 1996 International two-ton truck driven by Bryan Coy, 36, Wynnewood, who was behind Harris, and also driving north on US 377, a report from Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Michael Choate said.
Coy was taken by Seminole EMS to Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada where he was treated and released. A passenger in Coy’s vehicle, Jeremy Neal, 37, Sasakwa, was taken by Seminole EMS to VVRH and admitted with an ankle injury.
Choate said Harris was pinned in the wreckage for 35 minutes before being freed by Konawa firefighters. No one was wearing seat belts and the cause of the accident was listed as improper left turn from direct course, Choate said.
