Konawa remains on lookout

Talina Turner Managing Editor

Konawa Konawa police are still on the lookout for an armed man who allegedly shot a gun near deputies.

Konawa Police Chief Brad Morgan said Joseph Bounds, 20, is still on the lam and armed.

Bounds currently has two warrants out for his arrest, but officials are expecting another warrant to be issued.

Morgan said Konawa officers and Seminole County deputies are watching for Bounds as he is reported to be carrying a firearm, refusing to go back to jail.

Earlier this year, a deputy was pursuing a vehicle Bounds was in when the vehicle crashed, Morgan said, then pursuit continued on foot before Bounds allegedly fired a weapon.

Morgan said a surveillance video showed Bounds wearing a revolver on the outside of his clothing. He is asking if anyone see Bounds with the firearm to call 911.

Bounds is 5’9”, 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes and is of Native American descent.

In October 2008, a warrant was issued for Bounds following failure to appear in court on several charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a misdemeanor charge of assault and batter, public intoxication and a misdemeanor charge of carrying a concealed firearm. The charges were originally filed in Seminole County District Court July 2006.

More recently, a warrant was issued for Bounds' arrest in December 2008 for reckless conduct of a firearm.
