Concert to benefit Sulphur Veterans Center

SULPHUR —Americana Unplugged will host a concert at the La Ville Inn, 222 E. Main St. in Davis to benefit the Sulphur Oklahoma Veterans Center Benefit Fund. The concert, featuring Texas music legend Bob Livingston from Austin, Texas, takes place at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 4.

Livingston grew up in Lubbock, Texas, and moved to Austin in 1971 after playing on Michael Martin Murphey’s album “Geronimo’s Cadillac” and was a founding member of the Lost Gonzo Band.

Livingston is also going to perform a free mini-concert for the Veterans at the Sulphur Veteran’s Center on June 5.

As 100 percent of the ticket sales goes to the artist, for every person who attends (up to 50) local businesses have currently pledged a matching $14 toward the specified benefit recipient. “Americana Unplugged’s generous sponsors have provided more than $17,000 in pledges and contributions for local causes which serve Murray County since the first Americana Unplugged concert in 2006,” said founder and sponsor Larry Lyon.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., performance at 7 p.m. Discounted tickets are $12.50 in advance and $15 the day of the show. Advance tickets are available online at www.americanaunplugged.com, and in downtown Davis at the LaVille Inn and Jone’s Custom Jewelry.

For more information, contact Larry Lyon at 866-625-2779.
