TATUMS—A Davis man was injured after the driver of the vehicle he was riding in reportedly fell asleep.
Perry D. Ward, 55, was taken by Eagle-Med helicopter to Norman Regional Hospital and admitted in good condition with internal injuries, Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Colby Murray said in a report.
The accident occurred on State Highway 7 three miles east of Tatums in Carter County. Jimmy L. McBee, 61, Sulphur, was driving a 2003 Buick Century east and ran off the road, hitting an embankment after he reportedly fell asleep.
McBee and another passenger in the vehicle, Scott Harmon, 48, Davis, were not injured.
Murray listed McBee’s condition as sleepy.
