ROFF — State Sen. Susan Paddack and state Rep. Wes Hilliard announced a Rural Economic Action Program (REAP) grant for $70,000 was awarded to the Roff Municipal Authority, Pontotoc County during the June 9 meeting of the nine-member Oklahoma Water Resources Board held at the OWRB offices in Oklahoma City.
Paddack and Hilliard said the grant will be used to meet the requirements of a DEQ Consent Order due to illegal bypasses and discharge permit violations in the wastewater collection system.
Total cost of the project is $70,000 which is the amount of the REAP Grant
Joe Freeman, chief of the Financial Assistance Division, said the award was issued by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board as part of the REAP program created by the 1996 Legislature. In that program legislative leaders targeted water and wastewater improvements for Oklahoma’s small communities, those often excluded from traditional funding programs.
Todd McCaskill, chairman, indicates the project will consist of TV inspection/cleaning, flow monitoring, preparing a sanitary sewer evaluation survey (SSES) report, geotechnical testing and preparing an Environmental Information Document (EID) for wastewater treatment improvements and other necessary related construction and appurtenances.
