Fittstown man, woman injured in accident

KINGSTON—Two Fittstown residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident Sunday, a report from Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Darren Alexander said.

Tim Paul McCarter, 42, was driving a 1998 Honda motorcycle north on US377 three-and-a-half miles west of Kingston. As McCarter neared the intersection of US377 and State Highway 32, a 2007 Toyota pickup driven by Stephen Lowe, 35, Kennedale, Texas, reportedly pulled into his path from a stop sign on SH32, the report said.

The motorcycle slammed into the side of the pickup. Tim McCarter and his passenger, Jeri N. McCarter, 40, were ejected from the motorcycle. Tim McCarter was airlifted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas and admitted in serious condition with massive injuries. He has since been upgraded to fair condition.

Jeri McCarter was airlifted to Norman Regional Hospital and admitted in good condition with massive injuries. She was released Wednesday according to an NRH spokesperson.

Stephen Lowe and three passengers in the pickup, Amanda Lowe, 29, Mason Lowe, 4, and Brayden Lowe, 3, were not injured.

Alexander said helmets were not in use on the motorcycle and listed the cause of the accident as failure to yield from a stop sign by Stephen Lowe.
