Curry named 2007 BPW Woman of the Year

Sherri Curry , a member of Ada Business and Professional Women since 1989, was named 2007 Ada BPW Woman of the Year.
The announcement was made by Dee Ann Jones, 2007/2008 Ada BPW President and 2005 Ada BPW Woman of the Year. Jones said it was “a privilege and honor to present the award to someone who works diligently for the club and plays a vital role in both Ada BPW as well as OK/BPW.”
Curry was presented with a Woman of the Year plaque and pin by 2007/2008 OK/BPW President Glenda DeShazo at the group’s May 22, 2008 noon meeting held at Oak Hills Golf and Country Club.
Curry served as the 2007/2008 OK/BPW Corresponding Secretary and is co-editor of the OK/BPW publication Oklahoma Business Woman.
In addition to chairing numerous committees, Curry has served as Ada BPW Vice President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, and currently serves as Corresponding Secretary.
Curry is employed as office manager for WPS Inc, a 24 year old computer sales and network engineering firm located in Ada . Prior to that, she was employed by Moon-Baker Insurance Agency for 28 years.
She is the daughter of LaQuitta Price, a graduate of Byng High School, and resides in the Happyland community.
BPW/USA promotes equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information.
Ada BPW continues to address the issues of concern to working women in our community by hosting several events throughout the year to raise awareness of these issues, provide networking opportunities and career development programs.
