Lemonade stand to benefit St. Jude's

Ada — Along with fireworks, barbeques and parades this Fourth of July, three area kids are setting out to make a difference.

Eleven-year-olds Paige Epperly and Rachel Armstrong, along with Rachel’s little brother Riker, 7, are asking everyone to stop by their lemonade stand at 801 E. 15th Street on July 4 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The lemonade stand is an annual festivity at the Armstrong residence, but this year there’s a twist. All proceeds will be donated to the St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.

“We just decided we wanted to help kids with cancer,” Rachel Armstrong said. “We will be selling lemonade, Kool-Ade, popcorn, brownies, rice crispy treats, glow sticks and bracelets.”

The Armstrong family said Wal-Mart donated $30 worth of merchandise to help with the cause. Friends of the family have also donated supplies to the effort.

All profits will be donated and donations of any amount will be accepted. They ask that residents please come join them and help change a kid’s life.
