Two people were injured in a single-vehicle collision early Sunday morning just northeast of Konawa. Driver Christopher Stone, 18, Konawa, was admitted to Ada’s Valley View Regional Hospital in critical condition. Passenger Samantha Guyer, 18, Moore, was also admitted but released after injuries were treated.
According to the official report filed by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Brian Iker of the Seminole County detachment, the 2006 Ford pickup driven by Stone was headed north on County Road NS 3520 when the vehicle went off the east side of the roadway near EW 1410. The driver overcorrected and went back off on the west side of the roadway. The vehicle then went into a broad slide, rolling twice before coming to rest on its wheels. Stone was ejected an unknown distance during the collision.
The report indicated that only passenger Guyer was wearing a seat belt. Stone was admitted to VVRH with head and internal trunk injuries. According to Trooper Iker’s report, the driver was impaired by alcohol, and the cause of the collision alcohol-related. The weather condition during the collision was listed as rainy.
