Paintball retaliation

Man reportedly chases ex-wife, shoots her with paintball gun

by Derek Frazier

ADA — Tired of having his vehicle reportedly vandalized by his ex-wife, an Ada man allegedly “shot her down” Monday, chasing after her and shooting her with a paintball gun before she escaped over a fence.

Jeremy Rolen, 31, Ada, reported that over the past few weeks, his truck had been spray-painted, had bleach poured onto the seats and had an unknown substance poured into his gas tank.

The acts of vandalism, according to police reports, took place during the nighttime hours, making it difficult for Rolen to catch the guilty party.

Although reports indicate he suspected his ex-wife, 30-year-old Eartha Rolen of Ada to be the culprit, he didn’t have any proof.

The proof Rolen needed to take action came when he installed a motion detector in his vehicle.

That motion detector was connected to an alarm inside Rolen’s house that would notify him when someone was inside the vehicle.

According to police reports, Jeremy Rolen parked the vehicle inside his fenced yard in the 1100 block of N. Oak Sunday evening.

He was alerted to some kind of activity when the alarm went off Monday morning at approximately 5 a.m.

He allegedly looked out the window to discover his ex-wife, Eartha, crouched beside the front passenger side of his vehicle.

After yelling at her, Jeremy told police he grabbed a paintball gun and began chasing and shooting her with the gun.

Jeremy reported that his ex-wife ran from him, screaming promises that she would “never come back.”

Jeremy reportedly chased Eartha to the west until she escaped by jumping over a fence.

While Eartha was not taken into custody at the time, the police report indicated she could be charged with trespassing and other crimes, possibly including vandalism.
