McSwain re-opening features Honky Tonk Tailgate party

ADA — Only a few tickets are available for the grand re-opening of the McSwain Theatre in Ada.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 25, for the Honky Tonk Tailgate Party ’09 featuring country music artists Mark Wills, Jeff Bates and Trent Willmon. The show begins at 7.

“The McSwain Theatre is an icon of family entertainment in this community,” said Bill Anoatubby, governor of the Chickasaw Nation. “This re-opening marks a milestone and a new beginning for this historic theater.”

After much anticipation, the Honky Tonk Tailgate Party will be the first public event conducted at the theater since renovations began.

“We are extremely excited for the opening. It’s full-steam ahead for the McSwain after this first show,” said Judy McLellan, manager of the theater.

“These guys have been touring together since spring and we are looking forward to an excellent show.”

Mark Wills is a multi-platinum country star with eight Top Ten singles including “19 Somethin’” and “Don’t Laugh At Me.”

Wills will be joined by Jeff Bates, singer of recent singles “Don’t Hate Me For Loving You” and “One Thing”.

The last part of the trio, Trent Willmon, has not only had success as a recording artist, but also as a songwriter for Montgomery Gentry and Brad Paisley.

“This show is an event, not just a concert,” said tour booking agent Jon Folk.

“With three artists of this caliber, fans are certainly getting their money’s worth.”

Tickets are $30 for premium seats and $25 for regular seats. To purchase tickets, contact the McSwain office at (580)332-8108.
