An Ada man was injured in a roll-over accident east of Ada Monday.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper James McKee said the accident occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. on County Road 3585. Ronnie Dale Davidson, 61, was driving a 1995 Chevrolet Camaro south when he crossed the center line, swerved back to the right and ran off the road. The vehicle overturned and landed on its top.
Davidson was pinned for 20 minutes before being freed by Ada firefighters using hydraulic cutting and prying tools. He was taken by ambulance to Valley View Regional Hospital and admitted in good condition with head and external injuries.
McKee said Davidson was wearing a seat belt and based on his investigative opinion, the cause of the accident was excessive speed.
Another man was injured in a separate accident six miles north of Tishomingo at the intersection of US 377 and State Highway 7.
OHP Trooper Miles Anderson said Stephen Allen Turner, 30, Mead, was driving a 2001 Ford pickup north on US377. He ran off the road, struck a highway sign and rolled seven times.
Turner was taken by Life-Flight to Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City and admitted in critical condition with head, internal and arm injuries.
Anderson said there was an odor of alcohol at the scene and based on his investigative opinion, he listed the cause of the accident as speed. Turner was wearing his seat belt.
