Senator John Sparks (D), Sulphur and Representative Phil Richardson (R) was presented the prestigious OCA Legislative Appreciation Award during the recent 56th Annual Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association Convention and Trade Show.
The award was established to recognize elected officials who support Oklahoma agriculture and are loyal to Oklahoma cattlemen and their needs.
“It is our honor to present the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association Legislative Appreciation Award to Senator John Sparks and Representative Phil Richardson. Senator Sparks and Representative Richardson authored our trespass legislation, have an open door policy, and is constantly working to improve the lives of Oklahoma ranchers and their families” said Scott Dewald
Senator Sparks, a native of Sulphur, Okla., now resides in Norman, Okla. with his wife Beth and two sons.
Sparks is a member of the several committess including: the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education, Education, Finance, Retirement and Insurance Co-Chair, Veterens and Military Affairs and the Joint Committee on State-Tribal Relations.
Representative Richardson, a Pocasset, Okla. native works as a farmer and veterinarian.
He serves as the Assistant Majority Whip, Chair of the Environment and Wildlife Committee and is also part of the Education, Transportation and Natural Resources Committees.
