Wal Mart Super Center and Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) are encouraging blood donors to show their true colors Monday, Sept. 8, at a blood drive from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. To mark the beginning of football season, OBI will offer free OU crimson or OSU orange T-shirts for all who donate.
In addition to a blood donor team shirt, every donor will receive Members for Life points for use in the OBI online store, plus FREE health check readings. To make an appointment in advance to donate, call 1-800-OBI-GIVE or schedule online at www.obi.org.
“No matter what ‘color’ donors bleed, support of our community’s blood supply is critical to the game plan. This annual rivalry promotion generates excitement across the state,” says John Armitage, M.D., OBI President and CEO. “It gives OBI the opportunity to thank loyal donors for helping us achieve the goal of meeting every patient’s need for blood in the Oklahoma communities we serve.”
Oklahoma Blood Institute is the sole supplier of blood to Ada’s Valley View Regional Hospital, all Oklahoma City area hospitals and the majority of others around the state. Oklahoma Blood Institute’s Ada donor center is located at 1930 Stonecipher Boulevard and is open six days a week to those who are unable to donate at Monday’s drive.
