Byng Junior High and High School were placed on a temporary lockdown Thursday as a precaution, Superintendent of Byng Schools Todd Crabtree said.
“The situation developed due to child custody issues between parents living in two states,” Crabtree said. “There was little disruption to the school day and no interruption of students passing between classes. The lockdown was precautionary. Law enforcement officials responded quickly and took charge immediately.”
During lockdown, students are kept inside their classrooms during any situation perceived as a threat.
