Pontotoc Technology Center will be hosting a small business workshop Thursday, Sept. 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
PTC Small Business Management Coordinator Stacey Golightly said the full day workshop will provide small business owners with essentials for owning and operating a small business.
Cost is $10.
“We’re going to talk about business plans,” Golightly said. “A lot of times (people) come to me and they don’t have any idea how to write a business plan, so we’re going to go over (it with them) what they need to do that.”
Golightly said a panel of bankers will be on hand during the morning session to answer any questions.
We want to provide a means of when they go in to (see) a banker, what do they need to have.”
In the afternoon they will be talking about Web essentials and the importance of having a presence on the web.
“We’re actually going to walk them through creating a real simple Web page,” Golightly said.
“They have to have a domain name, they have to have someone host it for them.”
Barbara Rackley of Rural Enterprises of Oklahoma, Inc., Jana Kelley from the OSU Extension Office and a representative from the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce will be there.
Golightly said everyone is welcome.
“If you want to start a business, come out,” Golightly said.
