Car seat safety check slated

Ada September 26, 2008 05:23 pm

As a part of the National Child Passenger Safety Week, the Chickasaw Nation Community Health representatives are teaming up with the DHS to sponsor a car seat safety check 9 to noon, tomorrow.
Free and open to the public, the safety check will be set up in the parking lot of the Carl Albert Indian Health Facility in Ada.
“We want the parents and caregivers to be more informed about the proper way to install a car seat,” said Kimberlie Chapman, chairman for the Chickasaw Nation Injury Prevention/Health Promotion committee.
New car seats will also be available to those who qualify on a first come, first serve basis to replace car seats that are no longer safe. Those interested in a new car seat should bring their WIC folder and other proof that they fall within income guidelines.
For more information, phone Kimberlie Chapman at (580) 436-2603.
