An Ada man was convicted of first-degree rape in Pontotoc County District Court last week.
During a non-jury trial, Arlus Eugene Morrison Jr., 26, was found guilty of lewd molestation of a child under 16, first-degree rape, rape by instrumentation and child sexual abuse, Assistant District Attorney Jim Tillison said.
In May 2007 the victim filed a complaint against Morrison alleging molestations and rape over a three-year period. According to an affidavit filed by deputy Whitney Musgrove, a sexual assault exam was done and confirmed signs of abuse, assault and blunt force trauma.
Sentencing is scheduled for October 24 and Morrison could receive up to life in prison, Tillison said.
