ADA — Valley View Foundation will be hosting “Boot Scootin’ Birdies, Bunko and BBQ” Oct. 4-6 at Oak Hills Golf and Country Club. Proceeds will go toward purchase of a state-of-the-art GPS system for the EMS department.

Valley View EMS vehicles make emergency calls for both Valley View and Chickasaw Nation Health System. The new system would allow all five ambulances to be directly tied into the city’s enhanced 911 system. The GPS system will allow personnel to see the same screen as the 911 operator, showing what symptoms the patient has. EMS personnel can use a map to zero in on the location, as well as obtain coordinates of locations in order to connect with MediFlight personnel and other emergency responders.

Since Valley View Foundation was established in 2004, the organization has raised funds for women’s and children’s services at Valley View as well as a Vein Viewer and other minor equipment.

“Valley View Regional Hospital is committed to caring for your loved ones, now and generations to come,” said Tasha Bond, director of community relations and marketing at Valley View Regional Hospital. “By securing gifts that support the programs and services valued by our patients and community, Valley View Foundation asks for the community’s help as we focus on the future.”

A dinner and dance will be held Saturday, Oct. 4, from 7-10 p.m. Registered golfers will receive two tickets, while regular tickets cost $35. “This is a perfect event for non-golfers to socialize,” Bond said.

“The mission of Valley View Foundation is to strengthen the relationship between Valley View Regional Hospital and the people we served through philanthropic support. This support will focus on services, equipment and state-of-the art technology to better care for the future needs of our community,” Bond said.

Activities for Sunday, Oct. 5 will be the Ladies Bunko Rodeo from 2-5 p.m. Champagne will be served and there will be shopping opportunities from Silpada Jewelry, Arbonne and Pampered Chef. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Valley View Foundation.

“Bunko is easy to learn and fun to play,” Bond said. Bunko is an easy dice game that can be learned within a few minutes, according to Bond. Cost to play is $25.

Prizes for most wins, most losses, bunko and door prizes will be awarded.

“Best of all, there will be all you can eat dessert,” said Shelly Hamby, director of Valley View Foundation and coordinator of the event.

The four-person golf scramble will be Monday, Oct. 6. Cost is $150 per player. Registration and continental breakfast start at 7:30 a.m. Shotgun start is at 9 a.m. Lunch and awards will follow the scramble.

Each player will receive a round of golf with cart, continental breakfast, lunch, two tickets to the barbecue, a goody bag, cooler with complimentary beverages, and a “Splash for Cash” ticket.

“Join Valley View in a weekend of fun for a great cause,” said Bond.
