Byng grad plans book signing in Ada

Former Ada resident Dana Hall Jordan will be signing copies of her book at Hastings in Ada from 1-6 p.m. Saturday.

A 1984 graduate of Byng High School and 1990 graduate of East Central University 1990, she taught for Ada Public School, teaching kindergarten, second grade and high school home economics. She currently teaches fourth grade at Washington Elementary in Norman.

Her husband, Ronnie Jordan, is a poker room shift manager at Riverwind Casino. They have two sons, Beau is a member of the Army National Guard and attends Oklahoma University while their youngest, Josh attends Norman High School.

"Clang Went the Cymbals: An Onomatopoeia Alphabet Book" is Jordan’s first book. She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and attends meetings and conferences whenever possible. She has also worked as free lance editor on a poetry book scheduled to be released in November.

“I am interested in all aspects of the Industry, writing as well as publishing,” she said.

“This book is special. It is everything I wanted it to be.” Burma Willingham did the illustrations according to Dana’s directions. Area residents will recognize the backgrounds. “I took photos of Ada’s Main Street and sent them to Burma in Iowa. It’s hard to believe she has never been to Ada before."
