One dead, two injured in wrecks

Springer — An Ardmore woman died and a Wynnewood infant were injured in separate wrecks over the weekend.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Justin Pope said 22-year-old Danielle Sellers, Ardmore, died after the motorcycle she was driving collided with a deer Sunday.

Pope said Sellers was driving a 2007 Honda Motorcycle south on U.S. 377 when the deer crossed the road. Sellers was thrown 159 feet after the impact.

A medical examiner pronounced her dead at the scene from head injuries. She was not wearing a helmet.

A 4-month-old Wynnewood boy was injured along with his mother in a single-vehicle wreck Saturday. The wreck occurred just after 10 p.m. in Custer County.

OHP Trooper Travis Hale said Amber Galvan, 21, Wynnewood, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet west on Interstate 40 when the wreck happened.

Hale said Galvan was reportedly “distracted by a cell phone” when she ran off the road to the right, slid sideways and rolled one-and-a-quarter times.

Galvan was taken to Clinton Regional Hospital (CRH) where she was treated and released.

The 4 month old, Noah Galvan, was taken by EMS to CRH then taken by Medi Flight to Presbyterian Tower Hospital in Oklahoma City.

He was admitted with head injuries. Hale listed him as being stable.
