Allen city manager John Douglas Stinson (a.k.a. Doug) was arrested Monday night on suspicion of domestic abuse.
Pontotoc County Sheriffs deputies responded to a disturbance call from Charity Stinson, Doug Stinson’s daughter-in-law. According to a report filed by Deputy Chris Bittle, Charity Stinson told officers Doug Stinson came to the residence and had an altercation regarding family issues.
Charity Stinson told officials she called another member of the family a foul name during the altercation, at which point Doug Stinson struck her in the face with his fist.
Bittle’s report indicated Charity Stinson had a bleeding cut on her chin that looked to be the result of being struck.
When officers arrived, Doug Stinson was in the back yard of the residence participating in a verbal argument with Charity’s husband Kevin Stinson, the report said.
When Bittle asked Doug Stinson what had occurred, Doug Stinson told Bittle that after Charity Stinson had called another family member a name, Doug Stinson “lost it” and struck her in the face.
Doug Stinson was placed under arrest at the scene for suspicion of violation of the domestic abuse act and transported to the Pontotoc County Jail.
“I can’t comment on an ongoing investigation,” said Pontotoc County Undersheriff Joe Glover, “but he won’t be treated any different than any other member of the public.”

UPDATE!!!!
The victim declined to fill out witness statements, therefore, charges were not filed against Douglas Stinson.
