Geological museum planned for Mountain View

— MOUNTAIN VIEW, Okla. (AP) — Plans are under way for the creation of an outdoor geological museum in the tiny Kiowa County town of Mountain View.
Officials say the Wichita Mountains Geological Plaza will include seat-high cobblestone walls leading visitors along a path of interpretive exhibits that will be inscribed on granite.
Project developer Jack Parker says he wants people traveling to or from the nearby Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge to have a place to stop and learn about the scenery in the region.
The plaza will be funded by a $92,000 matching grant from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. Plans call for it to include wrought-iron fencing and parking for buses and recreational vehicles.
