Stonewall Five area athletes have been selected to compete in the first-ever Tulsa 66ers Native American All-Star Classic to be held Friday at the Expo Square Pavilion in Tulsa.

The girls All-Star game will tip off at 4 p.m. with the boys game scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.

Opening ceremonies begin at 3 p.m., featuring a Choctaw Color Guard. The host Tulsa 66ers will concluded the night by taking on coach Bob Huffman’s Rio Grande Valley Vipers at 7:30 p.m.

Stonewall Christie Jennings will coach the Blue girls team which features local players Tesia Worcester of Stonewall, Katie Campbell of Tupelo and Mallory Walker of Coalgate.

The Blue boys team includes Bronson Gore of Stonewall and Nikki Walker of Mill Creek.

“I’m really excited about the opportunity to coach in the inaugural Native American All-Star Game,” Jennings said. “This game is a wonderful chance for Native American students to show off their skills.”

Jennings said it will be a pleasure to coach three of the area’s top athletes in the girls game.

“I’m really looking forward to coaching Tesia Worcester, Katie Campbell and Mallory Walker. They are all very talented basketball players and should represent our very well,” she said.

Other members of Jenning’s Blue team include: Bailey Caughern of Achille, Sarah Mixon of Poteau, Patience Wilson of Eagletown, Tiffany Clay of Rattan, Brittany Goodeagle fo Sterling, Ashley McKeel of Smithville, Ashtan Santine of McAlester, Caley Wesberry of Tishomingo and Karissa Smith of Whitesboro.

Joining Gore and Walker on the boys Blue team are: Kyle Billy of Rattan, Martin Brady of Healdton, Matthew Henderson of Waurika, Ethan Matson of Victory Life Academy, Ryan Miller of Velma-Alma, Lucas Spears of Stigler, Bo White of Durant, Quinton Picone of Panola and Glen Davidson of Rattan.

“Bronson Gore is very deserving of this honor. His team is very talented and should compete very well with the Gold Team,” Jennings said.

One of the event’s major sponsors in Nike.

“It’s neat that Nike is on board as a major sponsor,” Jennings said. “The players will be dressed in Nike uniforms and shoes.”
