Lady Cougar basketball camp

scheduled for May 27-30

ADA — The annual Ada Girls Basketball Camp is scheduled for May 27-30 at the Cougar Activity Center.

The camp, open to players entering grades 1-12, will run from 9 a.m. to noon daily. Cost is $55 if paid before May 20 and $60 if paid after May 20.

Campers will receive a T-shirt and awards will be presented to winners of special drills and competitions.

Byng boys basketball camp

planned for May 27-29

BYNG — The 2008 Byng Pirate basketball camp is scheduled for May 27-29 inside the Bill Koller Field House.

The camp is open to players entering grades 3-9. Cost is $40 per camper and includes a camp T-shirt. Players in grades 3-6 will meet from 9 a.m. to noon daily with older kids meeting from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Campers may register the first day of camp from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Roff School announces dates

for 2008 basketball camp

ROFF — The 2008 Roff basketball camp is scheduled for May 28-30 at the Roff gymnasium.

The camp, open to male and female athletes entering grades 2-7, will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day. The cost is $40 per camper.

Participants may register from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. on the first day of the camp.

Ada baseball camp to run

June 2-5 at Cougar Field

ADA — The 2008 Ada Baseball Camp is scheduled for June 2-5 at Cougar Field.

The camp, open to players ages 7-13, will run from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. daily. Cost is $40 per camper.

The camp will stress the fundamentals of throwing, catching, hitting and base running. Each player is encouraged to bring a glove, hat and bat (if they have one).

ADA — The Eccentric Duffer golf course will be hosting a Golf Camp June 2-6 for ages 6-16.

Latta announces dates of

summer basketball camps

LATTA — Latta’s summer basketball camps will be held beginning May 27 for players in grades 1-4 at a cost of $45.

Grades 5-9 will be held beginning June 2 at a cost of $75.

Stonewall basketball camp

scheduled for June 2-3

STONEWALL — The 2008 Longhorn Basketball Camp is scheduled for June 2-3 inside Stonewall's Murphy-Roberts gym.

Cost is $30 per person and includes a free camp basketball.

The camp is open to players entering grades 3-8. Players in grades 3-6 will meet from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. daily with players in grades 7-8 to meet from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.

Griese announces dates for

2008 Ada tennis camps

ADA — Ada High coach Skip Griese and Carolyn Nimmo will host three camps at the Ada Tennis Center in May and June.

The camps are open to boys and girls in grades 1-12 and will be held Tuesday through Friday, May 27-30, June 16-19 and June 23-27. Grades 1-6 will receive instruction from 9 to 10:30 a.m., with grades 7-12 to follow from 10:30 to 12 noon.

Cost is $40 and includes a camp T-shirt.

Roff baseball camp

planned for June 2-4

ROFF — The 2008 Roff summer baseball camp is scheduled for June 2-4 at Tiger Field.

Campers will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. The camp is open to players ages 6-14.

Cost is $45 per camper with team discounts available on request. Campers will receive a free T-shirt and various other prizes will be awarded at the end of the camp. Campers will also have access to Roff’s new Fungo-Man machine and will get to experience the new Right View Pro video program.

The camp will focus on pitching, fielding and hitting. There is no pre-registration. Enrollment will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. on the first day of camp. Concessions will be available.

City of Ada announces

free summer tennis clinic

ADA – The City of Ada will sponsor a free summer tennis clinic from June 2 through July 9 at the Ada Tennis Center.

The clinic will be taught by longtime Ada tennis instructor Skip Griese. The clinic will meet on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays of each week. Grades four and under will meet from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Fifth and sixth grades will meet from 1:30-2:30 p.m. and grades seven through 12 will meet from 2:30-4 p.m.

Each student needs to bring a tennis racket. Tennis balls will be provided. No prior registration is necessary. Participants only need to show up at the appropriate time.

Byng Lady Pirates to host

pair of 2008 hoops camps

BYNG — The Byng Lady Pirates will host a pair of summer basketball camps in June.

A shooting camp is scheduled for June 9-11 inside the Bill Koller Field House.

Cost is $20 per camper and is open to students entering grades 3-9. Campers in grades 3-6 will meet from 10 a.m. to noon daily with campers in grades 7-9 meeting from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

This camp will focus on the shooting fundamentals, including triple threat, shooting off the dribble, moving without the ball and shots for individual positions.

Registration will take place on the first day of camp, beginning 30 minutes before each session begins.

A Lady Pirate skills camp will take place June 16-18.

Cost is $40 per camper and includes a camp T-shirt. That camp is also open to players entering grades 3-9. Campers in grades 3-6 will meet from 9 a.m. to noon while campers in grades 7-9 will meet from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
