Cougar All Sports Tournament

planned for Ju.y 13

ADA — The first annual Ada Cougar All Sports Golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday, July 13 at the Oak Hills Golf and Country Club.

Tee time is set for 8 a.m.

Former University of Oklahoma quarterback Bob Warmack will be an honored guest at the event.

The tournament is open to the public and all interested golfers are encouraged to enter. Entry fee is $100 per person or $400 per team. Awards will be given to the top three finishing teams. The field is limited to the first 72 golfers.

Vision Bank Ada City Open

scheduled to begin June 29

ADA — The 2009 Vision Bank Ada City Open youth tennis tournament is scheduled for June 29-July 2 at the Ada Tennis Center.

Entry forms can be picked up at The Runner and at The Ada Tennis Center.

Tiger Basketball Clinic

set for July 13-17

ADA — East Central University’s Tiger Basketball Clinic, for students in grades 1-12, will be held on July 13-17 at the Kerr Activities Center on the ECU campus.

Skills, drills and basic fundamentals will be learned at the five-day camp.

The camp is directed by ECU women’s assistant basketball coach Jeff McGaha and his brother Matt McGaha (10 years experience at the Jr.High, High School, and Collegiate level), along with former and current ECU basketball players.

Grades 5-12 will meet from 9 a.m. to noon on July 13-17 while those in grades 1-4 will learn from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Participants are urged to bring a second pair of shoes (no outside shoes allowed on the floor). Included in the cost of the camp are a camp basketball, t-shirt, and snacks.

The cost is $90 per participant. However, there is an early bird special rate of $80 which is good until 5 p.m. on July 10th.
