Sprint cars still speeding to OSP

ADA — After Mother Nature had her way last weekend, the Oil Capitol Racing Series winged sprint cars will thunder into the Oklahoma Sports Park this Saturday night in Ada to compete in the ‘Oklahoma State Championship’.

Current points leader and defending champion Jamie Passmore of Rose, Oklahoma will lead the charge of the sprint car invaders onto the 4/10 mile dirt track for the final time this season at OSP.

Along with Passmore, other challengers expected to vie for the second annual OSC championship trophy include:

• Danny Smith: Winner of the the 2008 Oklahoma State Championship event. Smith is also second in 2009 OCRS championship points sitting just 58 markers behind Passmore.

• Frank Dittman: Winner of the Harold Leep Jr. Memorial at Oklahoma Sports Park back in May. Dittman is also the 2009 kingpin of the Champ Sprint division at State Fair Speedway.

• Danny Jennings: 2009 State Fair Speedway Super Sprint champion.

• Mike Goodman: Former OCRS champion and a two-time main event winner for 2009.

• Matt Sherrell: A two-time OCRS main event winner in 2009.

• Jonathan Beason: In his rookie season, Beason has become an instant force to be reckoned with and is third in OCRS points and has two main event wins to date.

• Evan Sewell: Winner of the OCRS season opening event in May.

This will be OSP final points races for the regular field of stock cars that compete throughout the season. Racing is scheduled to get underway at 7:30 pm.
