3-on-3 basketball event

scheduled for Nov. 20-22

ADA — A 3-on-3 basketball tournament is scheduled for Nov. 20-22 and is sponsored by the Ada Boys and Girls Club.

The double-elimination event is open to students in grades 3-8 and another tournament is open to atheltes ages 18 and over.

Entry fee is $40 per four-member team.

Byng schedules series of

Saturday basketball clinics

BYNG — Byng boys basketball coach Trent Miller will host a series of Saturday basketball clinics throughout the next two months.

Clinics — open to players in grades 1-6 — are scheduled for Nov. 7, Nov. 14, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12. and will run from 9 a.m. to noon inside the Bill Koller Field House.

Cost is $10 per session and participants may register at 8:15 a.m. the day of the clinic.

Winter racing continues

Saturday at OSP

ADA — The winter racing season at the Oklahoma Sports Park will continue Saturday, Nov. 7.

The races will include divisions for Karts, Quads, Lawn Mowers and Motorcycles. There will be classes for both kids and adults.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. and racing will start at approximately 7 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults and $10 for kids ages 11-15 and senior citizens. Children ages 10-and-under are admitted free.

Oklahoma Sports Park Winter Racing will be held in the big barn beside the dirt track which is located 10 miles northwest of Ada on SH 3W.

Registration still open for

Ada Youth Basketball League

ADA — There are still spots available for the Boys and Girls Club of Ada Youth Basketball League.

Cost of the league is $40 per player and is due by Saturday, Nov. 6.

The league still needs players in first and seond grades and seventh and eighth grades.

East Central to host

Strength and Conditioning camp

ADA — East Central University will host its first Strength and Conditioning Youth Camp for six weeks beginning Tuesday, Nov. 10 at the Pat O'Neal Strength and Conditioning Center.

Camp sessions will be held Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m.  Cost is $150 and includes a camp t-shirt.

"Regardless of a child's age, gender or fitness level, he or she will benefit from this camp," ECU strength and conditioning coordinator Travis Reust said.  "We will teach strength training, proper running form, basic expercises, injury prevention, agility, stability and balance, proper nutrition and weight room etiquette.  We're just trying to give kids a little help."

Barbecue sales to benefit

ECU athletic training program

ADA — Fans attending the East Central-Southeastern Oklahoma State football game on Saturday have the opportunity to purchase barbeque to benefit ECU’s athletic training program.

Hot Diggity Barbecue, out of McAlester, will be selling sandwiches and turkey legs, beginning at noon Saturday. The booth will be open throughout the afternoon, including the 2 p.m. kickoff, until the end of the game.

It will be located on the North side of the parking lot at Norris Field, next to the Elvan George building.
