Oklahoma Lake Report

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Here are the conditions at Oklahoma lakes as reported Wednesday, Nov. 11, by the state Department of Wildlife Conservation and lake rangers.

CENTRAL

Draper: Due to pump failure and the lake’s small watershed lake elevation is below normal. Boat access to the lake is poor and a longer walk to bank fish. The main fishing docks are still floating. One boat ramp is barely usable.

Wes Watkins: November 10. Elevation normal. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits at 5-10 ft. Channel catfish fair on chicken liver and punchbaits. Report submitted by Mike France, game warden stationed in Pottawatomie County.

NORTHEAST

Birch: November 7. White bass good trolling white spinnerbaits. Channel catfish good on chicken liver. Crappie good on minnows and white jigs at 10-12 ft. Report submitted by David Clay, game warden stationed in Osage County.

Copan: November 9. Elevation above normal, water clear. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 6-8 ft. near submerged structure. Catfish slow on chicken liver and cut shad below the dam. Report submitted by Joe Alexander, game warden stationed in Washington County.

Ft Gibson: November 8. Elevation 41⁄4 ft. above normal, water stained. Catfish good on juglines with cut bait and shrimp in the creeks. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 15-20 ft. under docks. White bass fair jigging minnows and spoons around deep structure. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits and worms at 10-15 ft. around structure. Report submitted by Rick Stafford in Wagoner.

Greenleaf: November 10. Elevation normal, water clear. Largemouth bass good on spinnerbaits, crankbaits and jig and worms around rocky points, shorelines and creek channels. Catfish fair on fresh cut bait on bottom. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around fishing docks and brush structure. Report submitted by Lark Wilson, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.

Hudson: November 10. Elevation normal. Largemouth bass good on plastic baits. Channel and blue catfish good on cut bait. Report submitted by Steve Loveland, game warden stationed in Mayes and Rogers counties.

Hulah: November 9. Elevation above normal, water murky. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 8-10 ft. near submerged structure. Catfish fair below on worms and cut shad the dam. Report submitted by Joe Alexander, game warden stationed in Washington County.

Kaw: November 9. Blue catfish excellent on cut shad in Coon Creek. Crappie fair on black/chartreuse jigs at 18-20 ft. around brush piles in Washunga Bay. Report submitted by Marshall Reigh, game warden stationed in Grant County.

Lower Illinois: November 5. Elevation above normal, water 54 and murky. Largemouth bass good on topwater lures at mouths of creeks, weed beds and coves. Channel catfish excellent on cut bait on bottom all along the river. Trout fair on flies at the surface, on rooster tails at 1-2 ft. and power bait on bottom above Gore Landing. Oologah: November 8. Elevation 41⁄2 ft. above normal, water 60 and muddy. Blue catfish good on liver at 10 ft. around standing timber in the north end of the lake. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 10 -15 ft. around brush piles. Crappie and white bass fair on jigs below the dam. Report submitted by Brek Henry, game warden stationed in Rogers County.

Pawhuska: November 7. Trout excellent on power baits and spinnerbaits. Report submitted by David Clay, game warden stationed in Osage County.

Tenkiller: November 9. Elevation 6ft. above normal, water clear and steady. Largemouth bass slow on crankbaits at 8-10 ft. Crappie fair on minnows, feathered jigs and tube jigs in deepwater around docks. Sunfish good on night crawlers or small jigs in or near docks. Report by Monte Brooks Cookson Village Resort.

Webbers Falls: November 10. Elevation 2 ft. above normal, water murky. Largemouth bass fair on white spinnerbaits in the riprap and creek channels. Catfish good on fresh cut bait on bottom. Crappie fair on minnows and purple jigs around brush structure and bridges. Report submitted by Lark Wilson, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.

NORTHWEST

Canton: November 8. Elevation 1 ft. below normal. Crappie good on minnows and jigs near brush along dam. Striped bass hybrids and channel catfish good on shad. Report submitted by Mark Walker, game warden stationed in Blaine County.

SOUTHEAST

Arbuckle: November 7. Elevation 21⁄2 ft. above normal, water 64 and stained. Crappie being caught on minnows and chartreuse jigs around brush piles. White bass being caught at 32-45 ft. along creek channels and humps. Bass being caught on spinnerbaits, rattletraps and small worms in weeds. Report submitted by Jack Melton.

Blue River: November 10. Elevation normal, water 60 and clear. Bass slow to fair on minnows and flies. Catfish fair on liver and worms. Trout fair to good on super dupers, rooster tails and power baits. Report submitted by Charles Baker, technician at the Blue River Public Fishing and Hunting Area.

Broken Bow: November 8. Elevation near normal, water clear. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass being caught on rogues schooling early and late. Channel catfish fair on cut bait. Crappie being caught on minnows and jigs around structure in the upper end of the lake. Report submitted by Dru Polk, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

Eufaula: November 8. Elevation 31⁄2 ft. above normal, water murky. Largemouth bass fair on plastic baits and crankbaits around rocky areas. White bass good on jigs below the dam when water is running. Blue catfish good on fresh shad below the dam. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 10-14 ft. around standing timber and baited boat docks. Konawa: November 8. Elevation normal, water 61 and clear. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits at 5-10 ft. around points. White bass and striped bass hybrids fair on minnows and jigs at 10 ft. in the discharge canal. Report submitted by Daryl Howser, game warden stationed in Seminole County.

Lower Mountain Fork: November 7. Fishing has been fair, now that water levels have stabilized and will be returning to normal with the next scheduled stocking. Report submitted by Sid and Peggy of beaversbendflyshop.com.

McGee Creek: November 8. Elevation 53⁄4 ft. above normal, water 67 and murky. Channel catfish fair to good on stinkbait and blood bait. Report submitted by Larry Luman, game warden stationed in Atoka County.

Hugo Lake: November 8. Elevation 7 ft. above normal and falling. Crappie fair on minnows along the river channel. Catfish good below the dam on shad and liver. Report submitted by Jay Harvey, game warden stationed in Choctaw County.

Pine Creek: November 8. Elevation extremely high, water murky. Bass fair on crankbaits slow rolled around rocky points. Crappie fair on jigs. Catfish good on cut shad. Report submitted by Mark Hannah, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

Sardis: November 8. Elevation 1 ft. above normal, water upper 50s. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits in coves and creeks. Crappie good on the bridges and off the tower. Channel catfish fair on cut bait in the main lake. Fishing report submitted by James Williams, game warden stationed in Latimer County.

Texoma: November 8. Elevation normal, water 67 and murky north and clear south. Largemouth and smallmouth bass fair to good south half of lake. Striped and white bass fair to good from Platter Flat to the south and west. Channel and blue catfish fair to good from Catfish Bay to the north. Crappie fair to good in Kansas and Widowmoore creeks. Wister: November 9. Elevation 12 ft. above normal, water murky. Largemouth bass good on soft plastic worms and spinnerbaits. Crappie fair with small spinnerbaits, minnows and pink jigs. SOUTHWEST

Altus-Lugert: November 8. Elevation 231⁄4 ft. below normal and steady. Trout season is OPEN. Next scheduled stocking date: November 12. Striped bass hybrids fair to good in deeper waters. Catfish slow to fair. Report submitted by Sue Hokanson, Quartz Mountain State Park.

Foss: November 9. Elevation 13⁄4 ft. below normal and gates closed, water low 60s and clear. Striped bass hybrids fair on slabs in deep water. Report submitted by Eric Puyear, B & K Bait House.
