Offices set to close for Independence Day

Many city, county and state offices will be closed due to the Independence Day holiday.
City of McAlester offices will be keeping regular weekday office hours. However, due to the holiday, the McAlester Landfill will be closed on Saturday. Garbage will not be picked up on Saturday.
The McAlester Public Library will be closed both Friday and Saturday to celebrate the holiday.
The McAlester News-Capital will publish and deliver a paper on Monday, but the business office will be closed.
According to the U.S. Postal Service, the McAlester Post Office will be closed Saturday due to the Independence Day holiday. There will be no USPS mail service on Saturday.
The Pittsburg County Health Department will be closed Friday due to the holiday. The Pittsburg County Courthouse and county offices will be closed on Friday as well.
Oklahoma Department of Human Services offices will be closed on Friday for the holiday.
