February 20, 1922 - December 19, 2008

Amy Jene Breco was born in Ada to Amy MacDaniels (daughter of Choctaw enrollee, Lucetta McClure) and Leo Breco. She was Adopted by her paternal grandparents Dr. Joseph Gideon Breco and Sudie Andrews. The doctor owned the only hospital in town, getting paid with farm produce and live chickens during the depression. Amy almost fell out of a tree while viewing a surgery through a second floor window when she was 8. She won Oklahoma college vocal championships two years, then moved California at the beginning of World War II where she worked in a gas mask factory. She married Jack Frederick Huntington and had two daughters and a son, Susan, Linda, and John. The family moved back to Ada from 1953 to 1961 to live on Dr. Breco’s ranch near Stonewall. Amy has three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Back in California she taught stained glass and jewelry making in adult school for 25 years in Torrance and was the lay reader of charismatic services at St. Andrews Episcopal church, as well as managing the church office for many years.
