ALLINE ZIMMERMAN

OKLAHOMA CITY — Services for Alline Zimmerman, 89, Oklahoma City, were 9 .m. Wednesday at Vondel Smith North Colonial Chapel. Burial was 3 p.m. at Rosedale Cemetery, Ada.

Mrs. Zimmerman died Feb. 2, 2008. She was born Nov. 2, 1918, at Lindsay to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Palmore.

She was raised in Ada, where she attended Horace Mann Elementary School. The family moved to Maysville where she attended high school. She returned to Ada in 1936 and later lived in Port Arthur, Texas, El Paso, Texas, Albuquerque, N.M., Norfolk, Va., Dallas, Texas, and Oklahoma City, before returning to Ada in 1978. In 2004, she moved to Oklahoma City. She and her husband co-authored a book, “So This Was Home.”

She married John W. Zimmerman Jr. in June 1940.

Mrs. Zimmerman was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Amy Palmore; a brother, Frank Palmore Jr.; a sister, Nellthia Storer; and her husband, John W. Zimmerman Jr.

Survivors include a daughter, Paula Allen and husband Roy, Oklahoma City; a son, John Zimmerman and wife Patrice, Oklahoma City; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Ridgecrest United Methodist Chruch Sanctuary Remodeling Fund, 3629 NW 25, Oklahoma City, OK 73107.
