BARNEY ODELL

FITZHUGH — Graveside service for Barney L. Odell, 77, Fitzhugh will be 11 a.m. Monday at Lightning Ridge Cemetery, Roff. Officiating will be the Rev. Steve Wilburn.

Mr. Odell died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at his home. He was born Sept. 1, 1930, in Harper County to William B. and Elma Adelia Leffler Odell.

He married Barbara Crabtree May 26, 1949, at Gage.

Mr. Odell attended Laverne High School in Laverne. He moved to this area in 1980 from Whitney, Neb. He worked as a rancher and farmer for many years. He had been president of Dawes County Farm Bureau for three years and president of Laverne Band Booster Club.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Odell, of the home; two sons, Teddy Lewis Odell and his wife Maria and Dwight Lynn Odell and his wife Debra; a daughter, Sharon Sue Brown and her husband Brad; a brother, Ward Benton Odell, Tecumseh, Neb.; two sisters, Edith Sair, Silver Springs, Md., and Elnora Avis, Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren, Lori Kay Smith and her husband Kevin, Oklahoma City, Jeffrey L. Odell, Ada, Sylvia Van Dyke and her husband Gary, Bakersfield, Calif., and Charles Odell, Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elma Odell, three brotherse and six sisters.
