LORA ROGERS
STILLWATER — Graveside services for Lora Elizabeth "Lora Beth" Henry Rogers, 93, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakland Cemetery, Russellville, Ark.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church in Stillwater, with Dr. B. Gordon Edwards officiating.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Strode Funeral Home, Stillwater.
Mrs. Rogers died Friday, March 21, 2008, at Stillwater. Mrs. Rogers was born in Russellville, Ark., on Nov. 7, 1914, to Clarence Cleveland Henry and Nola Hughey Henry,
She graduated from Russellville High School in 1932 and received an associate degree in teaching from Arkansas Tech in 1934. In 1934 she became a teacher in the Russellville Public Schools where she and Mrs. G.R. Turrentine conducted a model school at Baker's Creek School for the student-teacher training program at Arkansas Tech. She received her bachelor's degree from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Ark., in 1937.
On Aug. 25, 1937, she married the Rev. Dr. Lewis R. Rogers, a clergyman for 54 years in the United Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. The Presbyterian ministry took them to the Oklahoma towns of Anadarko, Okemah, and Cushing, and then to St. Louis, Mo, and later to Broken Arrow and Ardmore. After retirement, the Rogers' lived 10 years in Ada, before moving to Stillwater in 1991.
Mrs. Rogers was an active participant in many phases of church and community life. She was an ordained elder. She taught in the junior department of church schools for more than 35 years and directed youth activities and camp and conference programs on local, Presbytery, and Synod levels. She was a leader in church women's organizations and was an Honorary Member of the church's National Board of Christian Education. She participated in club, school, and civic activities and treasured her membership since 1950 in PEO. Since 1991 she lived at Golden Oaks Village where she served on the Council and had chaired the Worship Committee.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by three children: Lewis Robert Rogers, II and his wife Colleen Sawicki Rogers, Mulvane, Kan., Lou Rogers Watkins and her husband Wes Watkins, Stillwater, and John C. Rogers and his wife Jane Ellen "Janie" Escott Rogers, Stillwater; seven grandchildren, including Sally Vielma and her husband Joe of Stillwater, Martha Pittman and her husband Arthur Pittman of Lela, Okla., Jay Rogers and his wife Dr. Regina Rogers of Gig Harbor, Wash., Sara Keil and her husband Tom of Derby, Kan., Mark Rogers and his wife Christy of Andover, Kan., Wade Watkins and his wife Diana of Stillwater, and Brad Rogers of Stillwater; nine great-grandchildren, including Bradley and Beth Pittman of Lela, Rena Vielma of Stillwater, Josh and Kellyn Rogers of Andover, Kan., Brandon and Megan Keil of Derby, Kan., Emma Watkins of Stillwater, and Gabriella Rogers of Gig Harbor, Wash.; a sister, Mary Louise Henry Hughes and her husband Claude Allen Hughes, Jr. and their daughter Mary Beth Hughes of Fayetteville, Ark.; and to her relatives, her brother-in-law Dr. James Boggs and her late sister-in-law Ruth Ann Rogers Boggs of Austin, Texas, and their daughters Dr. Carol Boggs, Dr. Lynne Boggs Cariker, and Ann Boggs McCarley and their families and all the Zaborowski relatives of her other late sister-in-law Helen Rogers Zaborowski.
At Mrs. Rogers' request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Lewis and Lora Beth Rogers Scholarship, c/o the University of the Ozarks, 415 N. College Ave., Clarksville, AR 72830, or to any of the Presbyterian churches served by the couple in their ministry.

ADA — Services for Dorothy McGlohin, 72, Ada, are pending with Criswell Funeral Home. Mrs. McGlohin died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at a local hospital.

BROKEN ARROW — Services for Lydia Lee Jones, 85, Broken Arrow, are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Francis.
Mrs. Jones died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at a Tulsa hospice.

ADA — Services for Gene Anthony Clark Jr. 44, Ada, are 10 a.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Dewayne Ott and Harold Holt will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakman Cemetery.
Mr. Clark died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at a local hospital. He was born Feb. 7, 1964, at Ada, to Gene A. Clark Sr. and Joy Greenwood Clark.
He attended school in Fort Worth, Texas. He also attended a school for medical training in Des Moines, Iowa. He moved to this area in 1984 from Fort Worth, Texas.
Mr. Clark was a caregiver for disabled children and attended the Ada Baptist Temple.
He married Cyndi Basham March 15, 1988, at Ada.
Survivors include his children, Suzyrae Marie Clark, Monroe, Iowa, and Thurlow Wisdom Clark, Monroe, Iowa; his father, Gene A. Clark Sr. and wife Nikki, Konawa; his mother, Joy Bohanon and husband Jan, Byng; a sister, Jacqueline Clark, Ada; nephews, Aaron and Michael Cooper, Ada; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thurlow and Eva Clark, Homer; and Francis Ott, Ada.
Bearers will be Aaron Cooper, Michael Cooper, Shawn Lyda, Shannon Ireland, Michael Inglehop, Tim Underwood, Joey Cooper, and Kenny Lyda. Honorary bearers will be Christopher Ott, Christian Ott, Gerald Scott, Kevin Greenwood, Marion Johnson, Paul Campbell and Thurlow Wisdom Clark.

ROBBIE LADD
OKLAHOMA CITY — Services for Robbie Dee Ladd, 89, Oklahoma City, formerly of Tupelo, are 11 a.m. Tuesday, march 25, at Byrds Prairie Cemetery, Tupelo. Officiating will be Floyd Kaiser.
Mrs. Ladd died Friday, march 21, 2008, at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born Dec. 6, 1918, at Tupelo to Robert and Elizabeth Ellen Harkins Callaway.
Her husband, Cecil Ladd, died in 1963.
Mrs. Ladd was raised at Tupelo and graduated from Tupelo High School. She was employed at the Oklahoma City Greyhound Bus Station and was manager of the cafeteria and gift store. She retired in the 1980s.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Ladd, Odessa, Texas, David Ladd, Oklahoma City, and Larry Ladd and wife Sherrie of Blanchard; a daughter, Elizabeth Capshaw, Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, Emily Capshaw, Wayne Wilson and Gus Capshaw; and a niece, Sharon Corcoran; and many friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Ladd; a son, Geroge Ladd; and two sisters, Jewell davis and Ruby Smith.
