BRIAN MANUEL
ADA — Services for Brian Keith Manuel, 45, Ada, are 2 p.m Thursday at First Baptist Church, the Revs. Gary Jamar and Michael Calhoun will officiate. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. State Firefighters Honor Guard will conduct honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Manuel died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at his home. He was born March 15, 1963, at Ada to J.W. Melvin “Speck” and Mary Joyce Johns Manuel.
He attended Roff schools and graduated from Latta High School. Mr. Manuel was an Ada firefighter for 23 years. He served as captain for 17 years and assistant fire chief for five years. He was affiliated with Morris Memorial Baptist Church.
He married Susan Williamson Nov. 21, 1981, at Ada.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Manuel, of the home; two sons, Arron Manuel, and Steven Manuel, both of the home; his parents, Melvin and Joyce Manuel, Ada; a sister, Sherry Webb and husband Burl, Lone Grove; two brothers, Wendell Manuel and wife Sandra, Ada, and Kerry Manuel and wife Becky, Lone Grove; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Carol Williamson, Abernathy, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Donnie Williamson and wife Buzz, Lubbock, Texas, and Matt Williamson, and wife Holly, Abernathy, Texas; two nieces, LaCretia Manuel, Lone Grove, and Amanda Webb, Lone Grove; six nephews, Brad Manuel, Ada, Chris Manuel, Ada, Brandon Webb, Lone Grove, Jason Manuel and wife Amanda, Lone Grove, Josh Manuel and wife Laci, Lone Grove, and Jacob Williamson, Abernathy, Texas; one great niece, Zoey Manuel, Lone Grove; and two great nephews, Mason and Kadon Manuel, both of Lone Grove and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, W. F. Johns and Lessie Johns Vert, and his paternal grandparents, Emory and Bonnie Manuel.
Bearers will be the A Shift of the Ada Fire Department, Robbie Johnson, Donald Scott, Bill Atkinson, Danny Manuel, Justen McCoy, Mike Zachary, Matt Carter, Cody Frederick, and Trent Daniel. Honorary bearers will be all other Ada Fire Department personnel.

KONAWA — Services for Dorthy Lee Hailey Slusher, 77, longtime Konawa resident, are Thursday, March 27, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Konawa Assembly of God Church with Rev. Steve Lowrance officiating. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Mrs. Slusher died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born Oct. 28, 1930, in Sasakwa to Alvie T. Hailey and Mamie Jane Huddleston Hailey.
She married Benny Slusher July 21, 1962, in Gainesville, Texas.
She was a homemaker and a member of Konawa Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her husband, Benny Slusher, of the home; a daughter, Debbie Wood and her husband David, Konawa; two brothers, Gene Hailey and Dean Hailey, both of Tulsa; a sister, Peggy Sendell, Savannah, Ga.; two granddaughters, Tiffany Dame, Seminole, and Deanna Wood, Norman; two great-grandchildren, Taryn Nicole and Braden Christian Dame, Seminole, and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Otis T. Hailey; a sister, Lois Lawler and an infant sister, Billie Jean Hailey.
Bearers will be Sonny O'Dell, E.E. Goodrich, Wendell Stanfield, Harold Glover, Lawrence Hinman and Bob Sanders.

EFFIE JOHNSTON
CENTRAHOMA-Graveside services for Effie Leann Blevins Johnston, 44, Centrahoma, are 10 a.m. Thursday at Centrahoma Cemetery, Bob Graham will officiate.
Ms. Johnston died Monday, March 24, 2008, at a local hospital. She was born Jan. 30, 1964, at Oklahoma City Floyd and Linda Humphrey Blevins.
She lived all her life in the Centrahoma area and attended Centrahoma and Tupelo schools.
Ms. Johnston was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her mother, Linda Blevins, Centrahoma; a daughter, Tara Johnston, Lawton; two sons, Tim Johnston, Carney, and Chad Johnston, Carney; a sister, LaSandra Johnston and husband Royce; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Blevins, her grandparents, Willie and Effie Blevins, and Paul and Ruby Humphrey, a sister, Melody Blevins, and two brothers, Floyd Blevins Jr., and Eldon Blevins.

ADA — Services for Anna Beatrice McCoy, 89, Ada, are 10 a.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd Kaiser will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ms. McCoy died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at a local hospital. She was born June 15, 1918, at Ada to Ted Beverly and Carrie Nina Carpenter McCoy.
She lived in this area all her life, graduated from Ada High School, and attended East Central State College.
Ms. McCoy was employed with Southwestern Bell Telephone in the business office, retiring in February 1981 with 39 years of service. She was a longtime member of Southwest Church of Christ.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Doris McCoy, Elk Grove, Calif.; two nieces, Carol Boles, San Leandro, Calif., and Merry Anne Boles, Elk Grove, Calif.; two nephews, Jerry McCoy, St. Anthony, Idaho, and Charles E. McCoy, Tucson, Ariz.; 12 great-nieces and nephews; and 13 great-great-nieces and nephews.
