FERN ELLIOTT

ADA — Services for Wilma Fern Elliott, 69, Ada, are 2 p.m. Monday at Crosspointe Church, the Rev. Shawn Wiebers will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Elliott died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at a local hospital. She was born Aug. 24, 1939, at Drumwrigh to Chester and Pauline Jones Williams.

She attended Bristow Elementary schools and graduated from Jenks High School in 1957.

She and her family moved to Ada in the early 1970s from Oklahoma City. Mrs. Elliott was a secretary for D.E. Electric and also Jerry’s Electric. She was a longtime member of Crosspointe Church.

She married Gerald Lee “Jerry” Elliott on July 5, 1959 at Jenks.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald L. “Jerry” Elliott, of the home; one son, Paul Elliott and wife Tami, Ada; one granddaughter, Kennedy Elliott; one grandson, Brock Elliott; and a sister, Linda Priest and husband Tom, Tulsa.

She was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Lee Elliott on Dec. 8, 1997.

Bearers will be men from the church.

JAMES DENNEY SR.

ADA — Graveside services for James Robert Denney Sr., 95, Ada, are 2 p.m. Monday at Red Oak Cemetery in Latimer County, the Rev. Bob Langston will officiate.

Mr. Denney died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at his home. He was born Sept. 19, 1913, at Portland, Ind., to Raymond and Neva Hallam Denney.

He graduated from Portland High School and attended Butler University in Indianapolis, Ind.

He married Jean Danley May 2, 1935. She died May, 1997. They were married for 62 years.

Mr. Denney was the chief roller with United States Steel, Sheet and Tin Division in Gary, Ind., from 1932 until 1973, retiring with 41 years of service. Upon his retirement, he and his wife purchased ranch land in Red Oak where they established another home. He was an Episcopalian.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Petry and husband Paul, Centennial, Colo., and Rebecca Bowen and husband Norman, Ada; and two sons, James Robert Denney Jr. and wife Sandra, Scotia, N.Y., and Richard Denney and wife Ronda, Winamac, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

WYNNEWOOD — Services for Vetrice Estelle McCord, 90, are 10 a.m. Monday at DeArman Funeral Home Chapel in Wynnewood. Burial follows at Oaklawn Cemetery, Wynnewood.

She died April 10, 2009, at Pauls Valley.
