ELDIN FREE
ADA — Services for Eldin Leo Free, 75, Ada, are 1 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Carl Hayes will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Wapanucka.
Mr. Free died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at a local hospital. He was born June 30, 1932, in Oklahoma City to E.D. and Laura Burnett Free.
He moved to Ada in 1996 from Carrollton, Texas. Mr. Free was the manager at Humpty Dumpty Grocery in Oklahoma City in the 1960s and later with Fleming Food Company in Oklahoma City. He was the owner of Texas Waffle Company in Dallas from 1985 until 1996. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include four daughters, LaDonna Cathey and husband Randy, Ada, Lynne Weatherly and husband Eric, The Colony, Texas, Lisa Manley and husband Shane, Sparks, Nevada, and Rona Stout, Newcastle, Okla.; two sons, Lance Free, The Colony, Texas, and Lincoln Free and wife Melissa, Carrollton, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Hamm, Enid; and one brother, Thomas Free, Eugene, Oregon.
Bearers will be Randall Cathey, Thad Cathey, JustinWeatherly, Chris Cathey, Chase Weatherly, and Ryan Weatherly.

Ruby Abney
ALLEN — Services for Ruby Florence Abney, 93, Allen, are 2 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2008, at Calvin Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Calvin Cemetery.
Mrs. Abney died Thursday, April 17, 2008, in Allen. She was born Aug. 25, 1914, to Andrew Royster and Minnie Ott Royster.
She was raised in Bearden and lived many years in Calvin. She was a homemaker and helped her husband raise cattle. She attended Free Will Baptist Church in Calvin until moving to the Allen area when she began attending Center Free Will Baptist Church of Ada.
On June 2, 1931, she married Evertt Jefferson Abney in Holdenville.
Surviving are her son, Billy Joe Abney, Thayer, Mo.; three grandchildren: Terry Abney, Ada; Bruce Abney, Holdenville; and Sherry McCully, Catoosa; eight great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren and a sister, Rosalee Abney, Calvin
There will be a family visitation period at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, 301 East Main Street in Holdenville from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008.
